IN A NUTSHELL
Hi, I'm Jillian. I was born in a small town in Ohio and grew up in Buffalo, NY, a girl who followed her dreams to Hollywood and beyond. Here's my story; I hope you enjoy it!
THE EARLY CHALLENGES OF DYSLEXIA AND THE DISCOVERY OF MY BEING AMBIDEXTROUS.
I've always relied on my creativity and imagination to get through life. Heck, I've been working since I was twelve!
It wasn't until I was older that I realized I had dyslexia, but I never let it stop me from anything, nor did I let it get me down! I also realized I was ambidextrous, which has helped me greatly in my life. Back then, no one really knew what either was.
I was given both a blessing and a curse!
STYLING THE STARS IN BEVERLY HILLS
After high school, I headed to Beverly Hills to chase my dreams of becoming a hairdresser to the stars. I marketed myself like nobody's business and had the privilege of working with some of the biggest names in Hollywood!
Lucille Ball, Barbara Carrara, Suzanne Somers, Cher, David Hasselhoff, Princesses of Saudi Arabia, Johnny Carson, Rachel Welsh, and Dolly Parton, to name a few.
But! After ten years in the salon business, I was burned out and ready for a change.
THE FIRST INVENTION - THE BEGINNING OF MY JOURNEY
So, I headed back to Buffalo, New York, and started an interior design business with my sister. That's when I stumbled upon an issue while making duplicate pillows for a client's couch. I knew there had to be a better way, so I created a new product line that allowed sewers to "Trace, Cut, and Sew." This sped up their sewing production by a whopping 75%!
FROM LOAN OFFICER TO ENTREPRENEUR
In 2000, I moved to Dallas, Texas, and became a subprime loan officer. I was good at my job and made a great living for myself!...
When the market crashed in 2008, the mortgage industry took a big hit. I moved back to Buffalo and decided to semi-retire, working part-time, only babysitting on the side.
INVENTING BIB & BEYOND (now BABY BIG BIB)
That's when it hit me – After cleaning up tirelessly after my grandson.
After extensive research, I realized there was nothing on the market to help with the mess after a little one ate! Out of frustration, I developed a unique full-sized bib, and word spread like wildfire! So, I decided to take the product to the next level, and "BIB & BEYOND" was born and is what it is today.
I take my ideas and bring them to fruition.
BRINGING PRODUCTS TO MARKET - PASSION RE-IGNITED
As I bring my products to the market, I feel like I'm earning my Master's degree: No matter how much I learn, my creative spirit, originality, and resourcefulness truly propel me toward success. And I wouldn't have it any other way!
